3 horror movie characters that you were happy to see killed off

*SPOILERS ALERT

While true horror fans won’t be shocked to learn about which characters are gruesomely murdered, others deserve a fair warning, especially if that film was on their upcoming must-watch list. Although the audience should be gripping their seats in hopes that their favorite character evades the grasps of the cinematic villain, it wouldn’t be a horror flick without sacrificing some of them unexpectedly for the guts and gore! That said, this blog is about the antagonists who needed a good brutalizing.

Scream 3 – Cotton Weary

Having survived the previous two installments, Cotton Weary goes from being falsely accused of murder to franchise hero to arrogant TV host. When it comes to Weary, fans have seen it all, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise when he is finally killed off in the opening scene of Scream 3. Having served his purpose, and quite frankly, overextended his purpose within the franchise, we feel that Ghostface deserved to catch him this time around.

Friday the 13th: A New Beginning – Joey Burns

Unlikeable Joey Burns allowed the franchise to create a Jason Voorhees copycat—the vengeance-seeking father of Joey, Roy Burns. Creators purposely made the character irritating enough to warrant his demise, annoying everyone by placing his chocolate-covered fingers on crisp, white sheets. Anyways, thank you, Mr. Burns. You paved way for new beginnings in this spooktacular installment, also known as Friday the 13th: Part V.

Child’s Play 2: Phil Simpson

While the above characters were simply bothersome, Phil Simpson is a real schmuck. After Andy Barclay is forced into the foster system following his mom being locked up in a mental institution, it’s Phil that threatens the traumatized kid with the prospect of being returned to the foster care center when Barclay tells him that Chucky has resurfaced. It’s this scene that makes it easy to crack a smile when Chucky trips Phil and causes him to fall to his untimely death.
