What do we know about the miniseries so far?
Set to premiere on January 12, 2020, “The Outsider” TV adaptation will be a 10-episode series that will follow police detective Ralph Anderson, alongside eccentric private investigator Holly Gibney, as they examine a mysterious circumstance that finds them deep in the Georgia woods investigating an enigmatic death of an 11-year-old boy. After just losing a son of his own, Anderson is forced to explain the unexplainable, as horrifying evidence stacks up to peg local townie and Little League coach, Terry Maitland. Though insistent on his innocence, Maitland experiences animosity from his neighbors as the investigation continues, employing two common genres of Stephen King, horror mixed with a bit of police procedural. Each chapter of the series is set to follow the trail of clues that could lead the protagonists deep into the cryptic inquiry behind who killed Frank Peterson.
